Day 1 – Lima : Fly to Lima, Upon your arrival into Lima you will be met and transferred to the hotel in exclusive zone of Lima in Miraflores for your overnight
Day 2 Lima – Cusco: Transfer to the airport for the flight to Cusco. Upon your Arrival in Cusco, the ancient capital of the Incas, we greet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel following brief orientation and a cup of traditional coca tea to assist in the acclimation to the 11300 ft. In the afternoon short walk City tour of Cusco, including the Cathedral, Qoricancha, temple of the Sun, the most important of Inca ceremonial sites. We return to the hotel (Breakfast)
Day 3 Riding / hiking – Sacsayhuaman: To day From Cusco we explore the nearby ruins by horseback (or foot if preferred). We visit the impressive Inca forts of Pucara, Tambo Machay, Quenqo and Sacsayhuaman. A fun adventure through beautiful countryside, which will acclimatise us further. Return to hotel in Cusco. (Breakfast)
Day 4 Rafting: Instruction Day: We drive to the Urubamba, the sacred river of the Incas for some fun grade II-III rafting. Full instruction and safety talk is given so no previous experience is necessary. We return back to Cusco and to our hotel. (Breakfast)
Day 5 Rafting: Urubamba – Pisac: At 9:00 AM we leave to the Urubamba River in the Sacred Valley of the Incas (north of Cusco), where our guide will give us an introductory chat on safety and equipment for our trip running the Urubamba. A chance to do it yourself today with some inflatable, we will raft for around 2 hours in Class II,III.IV+ and V rapids, depending on which route we select. We continue down the Sacred Valley of the Incas to the town of Pisac and overnight in a charming hostal. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Day 6 Pisac: A day in the ancient Inca town of Pisac renowned for its local markets, weavings and hand-painted pottery. The energetic can hike around the impressive Inca ruins on the hill high above the town. In the afternoon we drive down the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Lunch at the local hacienda restaurant and continue to Ollantaytambo the major Inca temple / fortress. Probably built by the great Inca ruler, Pachacuti in the 1460s, it was the site of Hernando Pizzaro’s defeat by Manco Inca in 1536. Return to the hotel in Cusco. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Day 7 - Inca Trail km 104: Early in the morning after breakfast We pick you up at your hotel and take you to the railway station for the tourist class train to Machu Pichu. The 3 hour train journey passes through picturesque Andean scenery, passing traditional villages, Inca ruins and rushing rivers. We'll descend 1300 meters through the Sacred Valley of the Incas and follow the Urubamba river until the km.104 where we start the hike, after about 3 hours we arrive at Winaywayna (8km. aprox.) the lunch is provided on the road. In this site we will explore the extensive Inca ruins. In the afternoon we continue hiking until arrive to the Inti Punco (the sun gate) with the beautiful views of Machu Picchu. Afterwards we descend to the Aguas Calientes where we spend one night. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Day 8 :Machupicchu- Cusco: Today we ascend to Machu Picchu for the tour, our guide will explain you about two hours the history and the myths that surround this archaeological wonder. Afterward we descend to the Aguas Calientes to have lunch, then we aboard the train train back to Poroy. Here our waiting bus takes us back to Cusco and our hotel. Energy a celebration dinner in one of Cusco’s excellent restaurants. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Day 9 Cusco: There is so much to see and do in Cusco that we dedicate a whole free day to doing just that. Whether your interest is exploring Inca ruins, visiting Colonial churches, bargain hunting in Indian markets or just relaxing over a cappuccino on a terrace overlooking the Plaza de Armas, Cusco has it all. Day 10 Cusco – Puerto Maldonado
A short flight over the Andes brings us to Puerto Maldonado, in the heart of the Amazon rainforest. Here we travel by motorized dug out canoe boat away from the town to our jungle lodge. With our resident expert guides on hand we can choose to do as little or as much exploring as we like. We can take canoe rides, hike trails, go out at night in search of caiman or simply relax in our hammock and soak up the atmosphere. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Days 11 – 12 Hiking: Amazon Up at dawn we continue our exploration of the jungle, by foot into the pristine rainforest or by canoe on the nearby lake. Our resident naturalist guides will explain to us the amazing flora and fauna of the Amazon. Hopefully we see several species of monkeys, many exotic birds and if we are lucky maybe a mammal or two. Another siesta and for those who wish, more exploration of the rainforest. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Day 13 Puerto Maldonado – Lima: We transfer back to Puerto Maldonado for your flight to Lima in time to connect with your international flights home. (Breakfast)
