Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Lima
Arrival into Lima and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: Lima City Tour
City tour of Lima, including a guided visit to the Cathedral, the Main Square and the San Francisco Catacombs. Return to the hotel for a free afternoon. Overnight.

Day 3: Tambopata Jungle
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Puerto Maldonado. Reception and transfer to the Tambopata River port in Puerto Maldonado for the canoe trip to your jungle lodge.

Day 4: Tambopata Jungle
A pre-dawn wake-up call will enable you to be on the lake for sunrise and a hopeful encounter with the family of Giant Otters that frequent the lake and are most active at this time of day. After lunch, you once again board the catamaran to explore the eastern part of the lake, where you might see one or more of the five species of monkeys that live in the forest near the lake, such as the Brown Capuchin Monkey.

Day 5: Tambopata Jungle - Cusco
After a dawn breakfast, take a final, shorter paddle around the west end of the lake to try and glimpse the Giant Otters before returning to Puerto Maldonado to catch the flight to Cusco. Arrival and transfer to the hotel.

Day 6: Cusco City Tour
A guided tour of Cusco, includes visits to the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman, Tambomachay and the Qoricancha temple. Dinner and folkloric show in the evening. Overnight.

Day 7: Sacred Valley
Excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas with a visit to the ancient Inca market of Pisac. Lunch before continuing the tour to Ollantaytambo, site of the last undefeated bastion of the Inca Empire. Overnight accommodations in the Sacred Valley.

Day 8: Ollantaytambo - Machu Picchu
Early train journey to Aguas Calientes for a full day's guided tour of Machu Picchu, the most spectacular ancient city in the world. Overnight accommodations in Aguas Calientes.

Day 9: Machu Picchu - Cusco
Opportunity to visit Machu Picchu at sunrise. Free time to enjoy this unforgettable site before returning to Cusco aboard the afternoon train. Accommodations in the Inca capital.

Day 10: Free Day in Cusco
Free day and opportunity for shopping.

Day 11: Cusco - Puno
Departure from Cusco to Puno visiting en route several Inca ruins and the remains of the great Viracocha temple, Raqchi. Stop at the highest point along the way, La Raya, before arriving to Puno and transferring to your hotel for overnight accommodations.

Day 12: Titikaka Lake
After breakfast, transfer to the port for the boat trip on Lake Titikaka to the reed islands of Uros. A visit to the Aymara island of Taquile before returning in the afternoon to Puno. Overnight.

Day 13: Puno - Lima
Visit the Sillustani Towers before your flight back to Lima. Arival and conection flight back home.
