Day 1.- QUITO
Upon your arriving our staff will meet and transfer you to your Hotel
Day 2.- FULL DAY CITY TOUR- QUITO
After breakfast our tour begins with the parliament building and continues with a walking tour around the old town included Independence square, the Cathedral and the 16th century churches of La Compania de Jesus and San Francisco. We continue to Panecillo hill, opportunity for a panoramic view of Quito (north, center and south). We will continue to the colonial center ( De la ciudad or San Francisco museum) and the Banco Central museum at Casa de la Cultura . Lunch at "La Cueva del Oso" (lunch not included). After lunch be ready to visit the Equatorial monument site, unique opportunity to straddle both hemispheres, visit the ethnographic museum and The Middle of the World Colonial City Representation, full of handicrafts and souvenir shops. Finally, we return to your hotel.(B)
Day 3.- OTAVALO TOUR - ECOLOGICAL TREKKING
After breakfast , we will pass by the towns of Calderon (bread-dough figures) and Cayambe, where the equatorial monument is located and we reach the Cotacachi-Cayapas ecological reserve, here we have the opportunity to hike around this unique volcanic crater where you will be able to admire and enjoy the natural goods of the Ecuadorian high lands. On the way back we stop at the Indian market of Otavalo, home of the most famous handicraft market of South America. Lunch could be served during the trek (box lunch) or if you prefer, lunch could be at a colonial hacienda before we return to Quito. (B/L)
Day 4.- FULL DAY QUILOTOA VOLCANIC LAKE
An approx 10hr tour heading south of Quito, driving through the avenue of the volcanoes, passing by the towns of Latacunga and Pujili. You will then have the opportunity to visit the town of Tigua, famous for its naive paintings. We continue up to the Quilotoa volcano, where you will be able to descend to the lake located inside the crater. Prepare yourself to enjoy an unforgettable experience ascending but this time on top of a donkey!. We stop for lunch at the colonial hacienda . Return to Quito.
