Day 1- Arrival Lima:

Board your flight to Lima, Peru. On Arrival at Lima airport, you will be welcomed by an English speaking guide and transferred to your five star Belmond Miraflores Park Hotel located in Miraflores, a residential area with incredible ocean views; enjoy welcome drinks upon arrival. You will then be escorted to a magnificent ocean view executive suite, for a two-night stay.

In the morning, guided sightseeing tour to the most attractive and important sites in Lima, the “City of Kings”. The tour includes Lima’s Historical Centre, passing by Plaza San Martin, Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the City Hall.

We will visit the Convent and Church of San Francisco, the greatest monumental complex of Colonial Art in America and Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The tour includes a visit to the Basilica of 21 altars, Convent of Cloisters, Capitulary and Clementine Rooms, Chorus and Library of the monks, a Museum showing 11 paintings of the Rubens School, the Sacristy with paintings of Surbaran and Ribera, its great patio decorated with Seville tiles of the XVIth Century, Moorish arches and underground Catacombs.

Afterwards we visit the Larco Herrera Museum, founded in 1926, showcases remarkable chronological galleries providing an excellent overview of 3,000 years of development of Peruvian pre-Columbian history.

Located in a unique vice-royal mansion of the 18th century built over a 7th century pre-Columbian pyramid, the museum is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The museum features the finest gold and silver collection from Ancient Peru. It also houses the famous erotic archaeological collection, one of the most visited Peruvian tourist attractions.

For an unforgettable experience, Larco is one of the few museums in the world where visitors can also choose to enter the storage area with its 45,000 classified archaeological objects.

Transfer to the airport where you will take Lan Peru’s 320 Airbus for the flight to Arequipa. We pick you up from your flight from Lima and escort you to our comfortable 5 star Libertador hotel/ Casa Andina Privatte Colletcion in the white city of Arequipa.

This afternoon, private City Tour visiting the Chilina valley and the old San Lazaro district. General view of the City from the Yanahuara Belvedere, the Plaza de Armas and its Cathedral, the cloisters of La Compania Church, the Church and Square of San Francisco and the extraordinary Santa Catalina convent which is built from volcanic lava and dates from the 16th century. Return to the Hotel.

Day 4- Arequipa to Colca Canyon: (B/L/D)

We wind out of Arequipa past El Misti Volcano to the barren altiplano. The colors and scenery are spectacular as we pass endangered grazing Vicunas and ponds with Andean Geese.

We can see many snow peaks and volcanoes from here, winding down into the Colca, we stay at the comfortable Casitas del Colca.

Day 5- Colca Canyon • Arequipa: (B/L/D)

This morning after a hearty and leisurely breakfast we drive a short distance down the side of the Colca Canyon reputed to be the deepest canyon in the world, past megalithic ancient terracing, to Cruz del Condor.

Here Andean Condors and other Birds of Prey, roost on inaccessible ledges and once hot air thermals have developed, produced by the burning Andean Sun, they circle out gaining height and provide stunning photographic opportunities.

The Condors are big and one cannot help but be amazed by these creatures. afterwards while we return to Arequipa we stop for lunch and back to our hotel in Arequipa.

In the morning our staff will transfer you to the airport where you will take Lan Peru’s 320 Airbus for your departing flight to the Capital of the Incas.

Upon your Arrival in Cusco, the ancient capital of the Incas, we greet you at the airport and transfer you to the Luxury 5* Monasterio Hotel, the hallowed colonial San Antonio Abad seminary, built more than 300 years ago. You will be welcomed with a comforting cup of hot coca tea and escorted to your deluxe room.

Overnight in a deluxe room with oxygen enrichment system to help you acclimatize to the high altitude in Cusco (11,000 feet – 3,352.80 meters). A la carte lunch will be served at the main courtyard.

Later this afternoon, be fascinated on a guided sightseeing tour of the city constructed on the foundations of Inca palaces.  We will start at “Koricancha” or the Temple of the Sun, then pass on to the “Plaza de Armas” where we will enter the Cathedral with its fine wooden sculptures, altars and paintings.

Afterwards, we will leave the city to visit Sacsayhuaman Fortress where the Incas’ construction of tightly placed stones created an incredible series of walls, the Temple of Qenqo, the ruins of Puca Pucara and Tambomachay.

Day 7- Full Day Sacred Valley Tour: (B/L/D)

Full day tour to Urubamba, the largest town in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Passing the impressive landscape of the Sacred Valley of the Urubamba River, arrive at the colourful market of Pisaq where you can still see citizens and farmers from nearby villages interchanging their goods like they have been doing for centuries.

We’ll also see a lot of handcrafted products for sale. We head to Ollantaytambo to see the impressive fortress where the Temple of the Sun, formed of 6 gigantic monoliths, whose total weight exceeds 50 tons and the Terrace of the Ten Niches stand out.

Ollantaytambo was the site of the only successful Incan battle against the Spanish. Ollantaytambo was originally built as a fortified city to protect the great Inca capital from attacks of the “Antis”, a savage jungle tribe who were never subdued by the Incas. Return to Cusco. Buffet dinner show at local restaurant.

lima arequipa cuscoDay 8- Luxury Hiram Bingham Train to Machu Picchu:

After Breakfast transfer to Poroy, a short distance from Cusco for the luxurious Hiram Bingham train to Aguas Calientes. Train journey passes through picturesque Andean scenery, passing traditional villages, Inca ruins and rushing rivers.

Descend 1300 meters to the Sacred Valley of the Incas and follow the Urubamba River until the final stop at Aguas Calientes at the foot of the mountains. Board a small bus and head up to the ruins of the “Sacred City”, Machu Picchu. Upon arrival check-in for a one-night stay at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge located in a privileged area right at the entrance to this magnificent site. Afterwards, guided tour of this magical citadel , the famous lost city of the Incas.

In an extraordinarily beautiful setting, it was probably the most amazing urban creation of the Inca Empire at its height. Its giant walls, terraces and ramps seem as if they have been cut naturally in the continuous rock escarpments.

The natural setting on the eastern slopes of the Andes encompasses the upper Amazon basin with its rich diversity of flora and fauna and is frequently shrouded in misty clouds pierced by the powerful equatorial sun. Upon returning to the hotel enjoy an exquisite afternoon “English style tea” with an assortment of fresh and hot drinks, petits fours and mini snacks. Overnight and dinner included 

Day 9- Machu Picchu – Cusco: (B/L/D)

Early in the morning opportunity to enjoy a wonderful sunrise over Machu Picchu and some personal time for private reflection. Lunch at the Sanctuary lodge. In the evening aboard the luxury Hiram Bingham train to return to Cusco. Dinner aboard the train, reception and transfer to Monasterio Hotel.

Day 10- Cusco – Lima: (B)

Transfer to the airport where you will take Lan Peru’s 320 Airbus on your one-hour flight back to Lima. Reception and transfer to Miraflores Park Hotel.

Day 11- Lima: (B)

Leisurely day with plenty of opportunity for shopping before your transfer to the airport and your return flight home.
