Day 1- Arrival Lima:
After your arrival into Lima our staff will greet and transfer your to the hotel. For tonight… we will have overnight at Jose Antonio 4 star Hotel.
Day 2- Lima • Arequipa: Breakfast (√) Lunch (√)
After brekfast transfer to Lima Airport for your departure flight to Arequipa (2335 m.s.l). After that you will be transfererd to the selected hotel in the white city of Arequipa.
In this afternoon, City Tour of Arequipa city, visiting the Chilina valley and the old San Lazaro district, general view of the city from the Yanahuara Belvedere, the Plaza de Armas and its Cathedral, the cloisters of La Compañia Church, the Church and Square of San Francisco and the extraordinary Santa Catalina convent which is built from volcanic lava and dates from the 16th century. Return to the Hotel.
Day 3- Arequipa • Colca Canyon: Breakfast (√) Lunch (√) Dinner (√)
Early in the morning after breakfast we go to the north part of Arequipa passing the town of Yura around of Mountain of Chachani, here you have a chance to see the Pampas Canahuas the National Reserve of Vicuna, at the midday arrive to Chivay and the Colca Lodge for lunch, afterward you will visit the Hot Springs of La Calera, then return to the Colca Lodge.
Day 4- Colca Canyon • Arequipa: Breakfast (√) Lunch (√)
This morning after a hearty and leisurely breakfast we drive a short distance down the side of the Colca Canyon reputed to be the deepest canyon in the world, past megalithic ancient terracing, to Cruz del Condor.
Here Andean Condors and other Birds of Prey, roost on inaccessible ledges and once hot air thermals have developed, produced by the burning Andean sun, they circle out gaining height and provide stunning photographic opportunities.
The Condors are big and one cannot help but be amazed by these creatures. afterwards return to Arequipa city and to your hotel.
Day 5- Arequipa • Puno: Breakfast (√) Lunch (√)
After breakfast, we drive to the Juliaaca airport for our departing flight to Puno. After arrival to Puno city we go the hotel. Afternoon free.
Day 6- Full Day Titicaca Lake: Breakfast (√) Lunch (√) Dinner (√)
After breakfast we pick you up and transfer down to Puno port and board motorized launche to start our Titicaca Lake tour. Our first stop are the floating reed islands of the Uros, where indigenous group who maintain houses and evens schools on these floating reed islands are located.
We continue to Taquile Island where we will have our lunch, late afternoon, return to Puno and to our hotel weary but having experienced the essence of lake Titicacaca, the cradle of Andean civilization.
Day 7- Puno • Cusco: Breakfast (√) Lunch (√)
Early breakfast and journey to Cusco, the Capital of the Inca Empire. The gentle climb is breathtaking, with the first half of the journey dominated by magnificent Andean mountains, wich slowly give way to the gentler, rolling Andean plains with their herds of vicuña and alpaca, we will stop at Archeological places on the way and lunch o local restaurant. Arrival into Cusco and to the hotel.
Day 8- Half Day Tour of Cusco City: Breakfast (√) Dinner (√)
In the morning after breakfast, we visit the Cusco city, be fascinated on a guided sightseeing tour of the city constructed on the foundations of Inca palaces.
We will start at “Koricancha” or the Temple of the Sun, then pass on to the “Plaza de Armas” where we will enter the Cathedral with its fine wooden sculptures, altars and paintings. Afterwards, we will leave the city to visit Sacsayhuaman Fortress where the Incas’ construction of tightly placed stones created an incredible series of walls, the Temple of Qenqo, the ruins of Puca Pucara and Tambomachay.
Day 9- Full Day Sacred Valley Tour: Breakfast (√) Lunch (√) Dinner (√)
Full day tour to Urubamba, the largest town in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Passing the impressive landscape of the Sacred Valley of the Urubamba River, arrive at the colourful market of Pisaq where you can still see citizens and farmers from nearby villages interchanging their goods like they have been doing for centuries.
We’ll also see a lot of handcrafted products for sale. We head to Ollantaytambo to see the impressive fortress where the Temple of the Sun, formed of 6 gigantic monoliths, whose total weight exceeds 50 tons and the Terrace of the Ten Niches stand out.
Ollantaytambo was the site of the only successful Incan battle against the Spanish. Ollantaytambo was originally built as a fortified city to protect the great Inca capital from attacks of the “Antis”, a savage jungle tribe who were never subdued by the Incas. Return to Cusco. Buffet dinner show at local restaurant.
Day 10- Vistadome Train to Machu Picchu: Breakfast (√) Lunch (√) Dinner (√)
Early this morning, board the Vistadome train from Poroy station to breathtaking Machu Picchu. The 3 hours train for one of the world´s great railways journeys, passes through picturesque Andean scenery, traditional villages, Inca ruins and rushing rivers. Descend 1300 meters to the Sacred Valley of the Incas and follow the Urubamba River until the final stop at Aguas Calientes at the foot of the mountains.
Board a small bus and head up to the ruins of the “Sacred City”, Machu Picchu. The famous lost city of the Incas is one of the most magical and mysterious places on Earth! Stand 2,430 meters above sea level in the middle of a tropical mountain forest.
In an extraordinarily beautiful setting, it was probably the most amazing urban creation of the Inca Empire at its height. Its giant walls, terraces and ramps seem as if they have been cut naturally in the continuous rock escarpments. The natural setting on the eastern slopes of the Andes encompasses the upper Amazon basin with its rich diversity of flora and fauna and is frequently shrouded in misty clouds pierced by the powerful equatorial sun. Afterwards take the Vistadome train back to Poroy station on your return to Cusco.
Day 11- Cusco • Lima: Breakfast (√)
Morning transfer from hotel to Cusco airport for your flight back to Lima. To day we say goodbye to our tour manager and people of our escorted tours Peru
